BROMSGROVE Sporting hosts a memorial match for Tom Jones tonight.

The Rouslers go head-to-head with a Royal Air Force representative team at the Victoria Ground tonight (7.45) to pay tribute to the teenager found dead in Worcester last month.

The University of Worcester student went missing after a night out during fresher’s week before his body was found in the River Severn on September 28.

A keen West Bromwich Albion supporter, Tom also represented Sporting at youth level with a bumper crowd expected.

The referee for the match will be Tom's friend Harley Hetherington through Facebook group Find Jonah, now renamed Remember Jonah.

Many of Worcester City’s squad are set to attend the game alongside manager John Snape with many local non-league clubs expected to be present.

A one-minute's silence will take place prior to the match and during the 18th minute there will a minute's applause for Tom - who was a former Sporting player.

Bromsgrove Sporting manager Brendan Kelly said: "Tom represented the club from the under-12s to the under-18s so everybody knew who he was.

"He played for Sporting for a number years and he deserves a tribute.

"As a club we can't imagine what the family are going through but if we can help in a small way then we want to do that."

Mr Hetherington added: "I am hoping that we can get a truly massive attendance in memory of Jonah.

"Please if you are in the area come down and show your support for not only the teams on the pitch but for Tom as well as I know he will be so proud of everything we are doing."

Admission prices are £5 for adults, £3 for concessions, £1 for under-18s and free entry for under-5s.

The proceeds will be used at the discretion of Tom’s family.
