POLICE will once again be using special powers in parts of Dudley this evening (Saturday) in a bid to tackle violent crime.
Officers will be using Section 60 stop and search powers in St Thomas’s ward including Kate’s Hill and parts of St James, Castle and Priory, Netherton Woodside and St Andrews wards until 3am on Sunday December 9.
The extra powers allow officers to stop and search people without reasonable grounds but where there is a risk of violence or weapons being used.
Anyone with any information about violent crime or suspicious activity should call police on 101, or dial 999 in an emergency.
