A HEREFORDSHIRE firm has carried off a top prize at the prestigious Investors in People Awards 2018.

Prometheus Medical, a supplier of specialist medical equipment based at Hope-under-Dinmore, received the Silver Employer of the Year 2-49 award at a ceremony in London.

Prometheus was named a finalist one of 10 national finalists in the category back in July.

“It was great to represent our amazing team and I was delighted when our name was read out as the winner," said Prometheus' chief operating officer Kevin Gallagher, who represented the firm at the ceremony.

"I feel strongly about how well we look after and develop our staff, but I was still a bit surprised when I was called up to the stage to be presented with the award.”

The company's chief executive Dr Malcolm Russell MBE said: “Prometheus Medical is known for the calibre of the people we employ, for our team ethos and customer service, and for the drive and passion that everyone across the organisation shares.

"We commit to the development of the talent within our company and feel that by doing that we will achieve the best possible results.

"This award is a reflection of our amazing workforce and is every bit about them as much as it has anything to do with leadership of the organisation.

"Winning the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Innovation in 2015 was a major milestone for us, and I believe the Silver Employer of the Year 2018 award this year will be similarly important, reflecting the people behind the Prometheus Medical brand.”

The Investors in People Awards recognises the people and teams that make a difference every day, highlighting excellence from across the Investors in People global community.
