Anna Chilvers from Bengeworth CE Academy in Evesham won Support Staff of the Year in the 2018 Worcestershire Education Awards.

Since then she has become a full time teacher at the school and reflected on her award win, saying: "It was an honour to be recognised as Support Staff of the Year and was overwhelmed to receive an award for doing what I love to do.

"I have so many colleagues who do a phenomenal and fantastic job so it is difficult to recognise just one person.

"The event was awe-inspiring and a celebration of people across Worcestershire who make a difference and transform lives.

Miss Chilvers was one of two winners from Bengeworth, with her colleague Greg Satterley taking home Teacher of the Year.

She started at Bengeworth around eight years ago, working three days a week as a volunteer for 18 months before becoming a qualified teaching assistant.

The deadline for nominations is April 18. Finalists are chosen by a panel of judges and winners are announced during an awards ceremony at the University Arena on June 20.
