POLICE are appealing for information after a woman was sexually assaulted in a Worcester alleyway.

The attack, on a woman in her 20s, took place just after 4am on Saturday, January 26, in an alleyway off Trinity Street between O'Neill's bar and Bushwackers nightclub.

This assault would have taken place at around the same time as an alleged sex attack on a woman in her 30s in Taylor's Lane, just a five-minute walk from the alleyway off Trinity Street.

A 23-year-old man, Gabriel Partene, has been charged with sexual assault and false imprisonment in relation to the alleged offence in Taylor's Lane and will appear at Worcester Crown Court on February 26.

Earlier today police released a CCTV image of a man they wanted to speak to in relation to the assault in the alleyway off Trinity Street, and were successful in locating him within two hours.

Officers also want to speak to two women who talked with a woman near Shakeeys takeaway in Angel Street at around 4.30am that morning.

One of the managers at O'Neill's, who did not want to be named, said the police had been in contact with them last week asking to see CCTV footage of the alleyway.

She told the Worcester News that she'd told the police she did not recognise the man in the CCTV image.

The alleyway in question divides O'Neills and Bushwackers and acts as a storage and delivery point for the two bars.

Speaking yesterday, Detective Constable David Hadley from West Mercia Police said: "As part of our enquiries, we would like to speak to two females who were believed to speak with a woman near Shakeys on Angel Street at around 4.30am that morning.

"If you have any information, please get in contact."

Anyone with any information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 119s of January 26, 2019.

Alternatively, information can be given to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their website.
