A ROAD was blocked off this morning (February 9) following a van fire.
Police and fire crews were called to the incident on the A38 near the junction with the A4104, just outside Upton, following reports a Ford Transit van was on fire.
A Hereford and Worcester spokeswoman said an emergency call was received at 8.32am and crews from Upton and Tewkesbury were dispatched.
She confirmed there were no casualties and the crews had both left the scene by 9.30am.
A woman who works nearby but did not wish to be named, told the Worcester News at around 10am the stretch of A38, which was closed southbound, had re-opened.
She said police were still at the scene but appeared to be getting ready to leave.
Speaking of the incident, she said: “All I saw was the police and the flashing lights. I didn’t want to get involved. There was a crash, I think, over there.”
