With so much focus on Brexit at the moment, a group of Droitwich youngsters were excited to visit the Houses of Parliament.
Children from the Westacre Middle School parliament travelled to London as part of an annual trip organised in conjunction with Nigel Huddleston MP.
As part of their pupil leadership role within the school, the group of young MPs take on a lot of responsibility at Westacre, so the children aged nine to 12 were keen to find out what careers in politics involve.
They were given a guided tour and were able to sit in the same place as Prime Minister Theresa May.
Isabelle Edwards, 11, said: “I’ve seen parliament on TV but can’t believe I got to sit where the prime minister and all the other MPs sit.”
The pupils then took part in a workshop where they learned about the Suffragette movement and met with Mid Worcestershire MP Mr Huddleston, who was impressed by their questions.
Deputy headteacher Mrs Doolin said: “This has been an incredible opportunity for them to see the workings of Parliament and meet their own MP. The children seem truly inspired.”
