A FAMILY'S life has been changed after rescuing a dog in need of a home.

Lottie’s original owners experienced a change in their accommodation which meant they could no longer care for her and give her the attention she both needed and deserved. Also the a mother who found out she was allergic to Lottie, so unfortunately the Labradoodle had to be rehomed.

Thankfully, they gave Worcestershire Animal Rescue (WARS) Centre a call and asked to see if they could find her a forever home.

Lottie arrived at WARS in good health and not only was she well trained, but she was friendly.

Lottie adapted to life at the shelter very quickly and was happy to play with other dogs and receive head scratched and belly rubs from staff members and volunteers. She was so excited to meet new friends and it was clear that she was going to make someone very happy.

Staff at WARS decided that Lottie was ready to start her search for a new family right away so they put her on the website.

Paula Morris, from Worcester, was first to fall in love. She said “We saw Lottie on the WARS website and knew we’d like to meet her straight away. We got the call the very next day and rushed down to see her.

That first meeting was perfect. She was ecstatic to see humans with whom she could interact. The blurb about Lottie said ‘she thinks the whole world is here to admire her’ and this is very, very true, even now. Lottie was so excited she jumped at our chests, wagging her tail and licking us furiously. We met her several more times taking her for walks and then in the chill out room which was fabulous as it was the first time we saw her be still.”

The family decided that they could offer her a forever home and proceeded through the adoption process, taking Lottie home a mere 19 days after she first arrived at WARS.

Paula added, “Lottie came to us a few days before bonfire night and showed us what she was made of by sitting in the conservatory watching the fireworks go off! She settled very quickly, loving to sit close to us. We groomed her and gave her lots of love and this seemed to help her settle."

Lottie went straight into training and breezed through it.

“Lottie is now a member of the family and everyone who meets her, loves her."
