PS is not one for over the top declarations of mushy instalove with sickly 'look at me' photos of over priced cards and ridiculous heart splattered presents bought by victims lured in by marketing geniuses, but thinks Valentines day should be celebrated in quiet grace and dignity.

Bottles, on New Street, Worcester was the perfect place to go for this occasion. The interior is sophisticated and fresh with comfortable quiet corners to relax and chat after a long day.

The best part was that I did not have to over spend and bankrupt myself the way some feel the need to on Valentines day. They had real bargain deal on, which included three courses of tapas for two people and a glass of Champagne each, all for £35.

With this deal on I was surprised the place wasn't packed, and that my valentine and I were one of the few couples there. This however meant that we could enjoy a nice quiet meal and had the undivided attention of the friendly and passionate staff.

It seems not many people know they do food at Bottles Wine Bar, but in fact they do it very well.

The food just kept on coming out dish after wonderful dish. It was a fusion of Asian and Spanish styles, all freshly made.

We began with a plate of sourdough with three different sides, my favourite was the garlicky butter one, but the dipping oil and olives were also nice. We also had a plate of three different bruschetta, one with Mediterranean style vegetables, one with green vegetables and one with a fresh tomato salsa type topping.

Then they brought out some delicious tempura vegetables, there was soft broccoli, asparagus, and courgette in a crispy batter, something I have never come across before with three very different dips. Our favourite was the very nutty miso dip which we couldn't get enough of. It also came with a tangy beetroot dip and a sweet tomato one.

A taste of the Caribbean at the Swan

For the main we were treated to a fresh vegetable and noodle salad with skewered, charred tofu. This again was very tasty.

The range of flavours I experienced throughout the night was very interesting and I had the chance to try a lot of new dishes.

By this point, as you can imagine we were both starting to feel rather full and the idea of more food felt like it might be a struggle, but we ploughed on as more tapas found its way to our table.

The next dish was skewered beetroot falafel with hummus and a side of Mediterranean style chickpeas and soft butternut squash.

To finish, they gave us poached pineapple with a kind of caramel sauce and strawberries also in a sauce. This was a very nice, light desert which we very much enjoyed.

Bottles proved that it is not a one trick pony. It may be a hotspot for wine connoisseurs, they are known for having a vast variety of wine and very knowledgeable staff, but they also do a good bit of dinner.

Overall I had a very pleasant evening. I will definitely be returning.
