THREE guinea pigs who are 'great friends' are looking for a new home after being abandoned in a box.

Jon, Alan and Richard are two-year-old boys in the care of RSPCA Worcester & Mid-Worcestershire Branch.

They are described as very confident and sociable and are looking for a home together.

Geraldine Haynes, branch trustee, said: "This trio were abandoned in a box outside a shop, not in the best condition, but that does not dampen their spirits!

"Alan is the brown rex haired guinea pig, Jon has the stylish long white locks and Richard is the tri colour 'just got out of bed' haired guinea pig.

"They are a chatty bunch who are looking for a loving home, ideally where they can stay together, as they are great friends.

"We ask for an adoption fee of £30 each for our guinea pigs, which goes towards our costs of a vet health check, a microchip and the males are castrated, which all comes to much more than the adoption fee."

If you feel you have adequate accommodation and the commitment to adopt these boys, call The Holdings Rescue & Rehoming Centre on 01905 821 272 (pressing option two) or pop into the centre in Holdings Lane, Broomhall, Kempsey, Worcester WR5 3FP any day (except Wednesdays) between 11am and 4pm. You can also meet other guinea pigs, rabbits and cats seeking adoption.

Alternatively, visit the branch website rspca-worcester.org

The branch is pleased to announce the opening of a new shop at The Holdings on Monday, March 18.

There will be lots of high quality items, gifts, clothing, bric a brac for sale to help raise funds for the rescued animals at the rehoming centre.

Mrs Haynes said: "Please come along, have a look and support your local branch of the RSPCA."
