MORE affordable homes are set to be built in Redditch after plans were recently approved.

Submitted by Redditch Borough Council, this brings the total to 23 affordable homes which are earmarked to be built on land across the borough.

The latest outline planning permission to be granted covers two two-bedroom bungalows in Fladbury Close, three two-bed houses in Heronfield Close and five two-bed bungalows in Sandygate Close.

Outline planning permission has already been granted for eight two-bed bungalows in Ibstock Close and five two-bed bungalows in Clifton Close.

The council’s Housing Growth Programme has already provided 11 new-build homes on Marton Close, Enfield.

During the current financial year the council has added 20 homes to its stock, spending nearly £2m.

Redditch Borough Council’s portfolio-holder for housing, Cllr Craig Warhurst, said: “I am delighted the latest outline planning permissions have been approved as it means we can continue to provide homes to our residents which they can afford.

“We are committed to being proactive in delivering affordable homes and building new properties is one of the ways we can make a difference.”

Now outline permission has been granted a developer will be sought to deliver the projects.
