REVIEW Milkshake! Live - Milkshake Monkey’s Musical, Malvern Theatres

FROM the moment twin sisters Shimmer and Shine emerged to strut their stuff, our four-year-old was hooked.

After the success of last year’s Milkshake! Live show, this all-singing, all-dancing preschool show returned to Malvern recently for two shows on the penultimate leg of a nationwide tour.

And the youngsters - plus many big kids in the audience - couldn’t get enough of the music, lights and colourful costumes.

Aside from the genie-in-training sisters, Channel 5’s iconic Milkshake! Monkey was joined by pals including Fireman Sam, Noddy, Digby Dragon, Wissper, Nella the Princess Knight and Floogals for a fun show that flew by.

When stage fright struck, Milkshake Monkey’s favourite friends came to help, taking us on a musical journey which promoted friendship and positivity.

The show was packed with catchy tunes and audience participation, encouraging children to get up on their feet.

Our little one was clapping away from start to finish, joining in with some of the dances led by Milkshake! presenters Derek and Olivia.

With a bubble machine, shooting flames and exploding confetti thrown in for good measure, this was a feel-good family show that saw children go home happy.

And the adults were pretty content, too.
