A PARTNER at a law firm went the extra mile to help a charity that supports domestic abuse victims.
Worcester based Zahra Manji from Quality Solicitors Parkinson Wright took to the track on Sunday, 19 May for the Hackney Half-Marathon to raise vital funds for West Mercia Women’s Aid.
The £375 raised from the run has been added to the firm’s fundraising tally of more than £8,000, which has been raised over Quality Solicitors Parkinson Wright’s three-year involvement with the women’s group.
West Mercia Women’s Aid CEO Sue Coleman and regional IDVA team manager Lisa Peplow said:“Parkinson Wright is committed to making a real difference when it comes to tackling domestic abuse. They hold daily ‘drop-ins’ for women, providing expert legal advice from solicitors who understand the destructive impact of living with coercion, abuse and aggression,”
Sue and Lisa said: “They also go the extra mile in their support for West Mercia Women’s Aid – holding regular fundraising activities and donating generously to support our work. Making a difference – in every sense of the word.”
Suzanne Oldnall, head of the domestic abuse team at Quality Solicitors Parkinson Wright said: "“Domestic violence is a seriously underfunded area; more needs to be done to support anyone who falls victim to controlling, coercive or threatening behaviour, whether from a one-off incident or ongoing abuse.”
