FAMILIES and neighbours are invited to join in a Great Get Together taking place in a Stourbridge park in memory of MP Jo Cox.

The event will be held in Greenfield Gardens, Greenfield Avenue, on Saturday June 22 to remember the Labour MP (pictured below) who was assassinated in her Batley and Spen constituency in West Yorkshire by a right-wing extremist in June 2016.

People across Stourbridge are invited to bring friends and family, camp chairs, comfy cushions or a blanket to enjoy a picnic in the park from 11am to 2.30pm.

There will be games for children and chance for people to chat, share interests and food at the event which aims to bring the community together to celebrate kindness and respect.

There will be nearly 6,000 Great Get Togethers taking place up and down the country to mark what would have been the community-minded MP's 45th birthday.
