A NEW range of business awards has been launched across the county to showcase and celebrate excellence in enterprise.

New for 2019, the inaugural Enterprising Worcestershire Business Awards have been launched to pay tribute to businesses which have benefited from the support of Worcestershire County Council's 'Enterprising Worcestershire' programme.

There are a range of award categories designed to highlight the success of each business involved and any business which has accessed support through the programme since September 2017 is invited to apply.

A spokesman for the programme, on its website, said: "Enterprising Worcestershire may have supported you to turn your business idea into a reality, get your business off the ground, or to implement the knowledge and skills in your established business in order to develop momentum and maintain growth.

"Whilst our programme has supported you, you have been the driving force behind your business and we want to highlight your success.

"Taking the time to showcase your business can be hard, but by entering our Enterprising Worcestershire Awards, we will provide you with that opportunity.

"Businesses like yours are what make Worcestershire the place to do business"

Each business that is a shortlisted nominee will be promoted throughout the Worcestershire County Council's 'Open for Business' platform.

Shortlisted nominees will also be entered into 'The People's Choice' award.

The Winners will each receive an award on the day along with publicity and promotion of their success.

Businesses are able to enter several different award categories.

A separate entry for each category must be completed.

Entries close at 5pm on Friday, August 2, 2019 and winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at Hogarth's Stone Manor on September 18.

The Enterprising Worcestershire programme is funded by Worcestershire County Council, the various District Councils and the European Regional Development Fund.
