A PRISONER has admitted assaulting two men in Kidderminster but denied one of the attacks was religiously aggravated.
At Kidderminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (June 18), Nathan Calder, a prisoner at HMP Hewell, pleaded guilty to assaults on Uzman Ajram and Syed Ahmed on April 13, but pleaded not guilty to a religiously aggravated assault on Mr Ahmed.
The 28-year-old admitted destroying glasses worth £150 which belonged to Mr Ahmed, but again denied it was religiously aggravated.
He also pleaded guilty to stealing cans of Stella from Tesco in Kidderminster on the same day.
Calder will appear before Kidderminster magistrates via video link from prison on July 2.
Also at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, Zeng yan Li, of the China Legend Chinese restaurant in Bridge Street, Kidderminster, pleaded not guilty to failing to provide a breath sample when suspected of driving while under the influence of drink or drugs.
The 55-year-old was remanded on unconditional bail and is set to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court on July 2 with a Chinese interpreter.
