POLICE officers showed they had big hearts when they handed over their old boots to help homeless people in Worcester.
The big-hearted bobbies found the boots during a spring clean at Worcester Police Station and decided they would be of better use to homeless people in the city, donating them to Maggs Day Centre in the city's Deansway.
Sgt Pete Frankish said: "We have recently had a spring clean of the locker room at Worcester police station and have 25 pairs of police boots that are either from retired officers or officers that have transferred or left the police force.
"We have saved the best pairs that could be re-allocated and donated them to Maggs Day Centre for distribution among their service users. Hopefully they will get some good use and benefit out of the boots."
Maggs gives homeless people somewhere warm and dry to spend the day, toilets and showers, healthy, simple food, including breakfast and lunch five days a week and clean, dry clothes.
