KEEPING trees in a good condition is vital to ensuring that a good crop of fruit is obtained year on year.
Helping to do this will be the objective of a course at the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms.
The community orchard at the centre is full of maturing heritage varieties of apples, pears, plums, cherry, medlar and hazel-nut trees.
A course will provide an introduction covering the what, where, when, why and how to prune fruit trees,
The session on Saturday, August 10 will be run by Karen Limbrick, a Garden Organic/Three Counties Traditional Orchard Project ‘Orchard Champion.’ It is between 10am and 1pm.
