Worcestershire County Council will be joining in the fun at the food festival returns to Worcester city centre, as their resident roadshow programme continues.

Residents from Worcester will have the opportunity to talk to councillors and officers about the services that the council provide, as the roadshow will be at the annual event on Saturday.

The annual event offers delicious food and drink from local businesses and selected specialist producers.

The appearance at the festival will be the latest in a series of summer roadshows that the council is holding across the county, following on from events in Malvern, Evesham and near Redditch.

Councillors will be joined by council staff to answer questions on local issues and to explain more about a new company, Worcestershire Children First, which is launching this autumn to provide children’s services for the county.

Experts will be available to give advice on how best to plan for the future and to continue to live independently for longer into older age.

There will also be information on how the Southern Link Road works are progressing, and on the county’s newest train station, Worcestershire Parkway, which will be opening later in the year.

Cllr Karen May, cabinet member with responsibility for transformation and commissioning, said: “The resident roadshows for this year are well under way and it’s great to be on the road again talking to local residents about issues in the area they call home.

"We’re looking forward to meeting Worcester residents, when we bring our roadshow stand to the food festival.

"These events are a great opportunity to speak directly to councillors and officers about issues in the Worcester area and to ask any questions you may have."
