Herefordshire Council leaders delayed making an announcement on the future of bypass plans for Hereford at tonight’s cabinet meeting.
Infrastructure and transport cabinet member John Harrington is now expected to make a "non-key" decision by next Wednesday at the earliest.
Council leader David Hitchiner says they need to take more time to make the right decision.
There weren’t many empty seats in the public gallery this evening, pictured above. Council leaders say they intend to "take democracy to Herefordshire’s market towns" by hosting some of their meetings there.
Leominster is understood to be the first town lined up to host one.
