A MUSKET was fired as re-enactors gathered to promote an event which will be bursting with history.

At the M5 Living History Show there will bee re-enactors covering all parts of historical societies: from Ancient Greeks, Romans, Medieval, Vikings, Napoleonic, American Civil War, WW1 and WW2.

Brian Bullock, from Worcester re-enactors said: “This is the biggest re-enactment event in the Midlands.

“It’s a hobby, but it’s only good if the public want to watch, else it’s just grown men playing cow boys and Indians. We want to bring history alive.

“It started off as a few re-enactors and gradually it has grown.”

Over 1,000 re-enactors will attend the event on August 10 and 11, at Spetchley Park Gardens, near Worcester.

The event, which began in 2006, is supported by Worcestershire Ambassadors.
