READERS have spoken out in support of a mum who is appealing for women’s cubicles to provide discreet access to running water to support people who are menstruating.

Leisa Taylor has said she believes running water should be introduced to a few cubicles for women to clean their menstrual cup after use.

Ms Taylor, who stood in the Bedwardine ward for the Women’s Equality Party (WEP) in Worcester, claims she always uses the disabled toilets when she’s menstruating to prevent others from feeling uncomfortable whilst she cleans her menstrual cup.

Some of the Worcester News readers have backed her plea.

Boris Johno said: “I have never heard of menstrual cups, which maybe proves this woman's point.”

"There is such a long way to go before women and the disabled are treated with dignity and respect, and the way they have to live their lives is understood. Some of you commenting should be deeply ashamed.”

"You can make suggestions to improve quality of life through your own experience or through known experience. To do so by speculation without consultation isn't appropriate or a good use of resource.”
