A MUM has organised a 27-mile walk in a bid to boost funds for two charities that have supported a five-year-old boy with leukaemia.
Sarah Price, from Worcester, has arranged the sponsored walk which will go from Worcestershire Royal Hospital to The Queen Elizabeth, in Birmingham. The event has been inspired by Oscar Saxelby-Lee who was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on Boxing Day last year.
So far, 75 people have shown an interest to complete the charity walk. It’s £5 to sign up, and all funds will be evenly distributed to blood cancer charities, DKMS and Anthony Nolan.

“It’s escalated. The event has gone from family and friends taking part to lots of people wanting to participate.”
The event will take place on Saturday, September 21 from 7am. Organisers has set a fundraising target of £2,500.
Mrs Price added: “Worcester is where Oscar is from and Birmingham Queen Elizabeth is where he spent some time, although he is at Birmingham Children’s Hospital now. The route is all linked to him. I think it’s quite iconic.”
