CAMPAIGNERS calling for fast-food chain Burger King to open up in Worcester may be encouraged that it is opening up next week in nearby Hereford.
The chain will be opening up its latest outlet in the city's Commercial Road on Monday, August 12.
Alasdair Murdoch, the chief executive of Burger King UK, said: “We know the people of Hereford love the great-tasting food of Burger King, so we’ve listened to their requests and are very excited to bring all their favourites to their neighbourhood. Our home of the Whopper is their home.”
The Worcester News has previously reported that a People of Worcester want a Burger King Facebook page was launched at the end of last month.
Barry Bozward, who started the page, said the opening of the branch in Hereford has given them further hope.
“They’re obviously in the market for new branches,” he said.
