WYTHALL Carnival will be the site for Worcestershire County Council's latest 'Resident Roadshow' programme this weekend.

Visitors to the carnival on Sunday (August 11) will have the chance to have their say and ask any questions they have about county council services.

The visit to the carnival will be the latest in a series of summer roadshows that the Council is holding across the county, following on from recent events in Worcester and Bromsgrove.

This year’s carnival will be hosting a variety of stalls, a series of classic cars and a dog show.

Councillors will be joined by Council staff to answer questions on local issues and to explain more about a new company, Worcestershire Children First, which is launching 1 October 2019 to provide children’s services for Worcestershire.

Experts will be available to give advice on how best to plan for the future and to continue to live independently for longer into older age.

There will also be information on the improvements to the A38 around Bromsgrove, the new Worcestershire Parkway Station and the passenger transport survey.

Councillor Karen May, cabinet member with responsibility for transformation and commissioning at Worcestershire County Council said: “We’re looking forward to coming to Wythall this weekend and speaking to local residents about local issues in their area.

“Our resident roadshows have proven popular so far this summer, providing an ideal opportunity for residents to have their say and to spread the word about upcoming projects.

“We are also looking forward to speaking to people about the importance of making decisions for your future and to give residents the chance to learn more about our new children’s services company, Worcestershire Children First, before its launch this October.”

The Council has held its Resident Roadshows every year since 2009 and since then the Council has used the events to have conversations with more than 10,000 people from across Worcestershire.
