THREE men have been arrested after being stabbed in a fight in Kidderminster.

Emergency services were called to Ray Mercer Way in Kidderminster at around 11pm last night (Wednesday, August 21) to reports of a fight between a group of men.

Three of the men involved suffered stab wounds and received medical assistance both at the scene and at hospital.

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that paramedics collected a man who had been assaulted from Kidderminster Minor Injuries Unit at 10.37pm.

A spokesman said: "One ambulance attended and on arrival discovered one patient - a man - who was treated for serious injuries and taken to a major trauma unit on blue lights and sirens."

The other men's injuries are said to be serious but non-life threatening.

All three men were later arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

The group included a 49-year-old from Kidderminster and two 17-year-olds, both from Birmingham.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: "It is believed at this time that those involved in the incident were known to each other and there was no threat to the wider public."

Officers are now appealing for witnesses, and a police spokesman added: "If anyone witnessed the altercation or has any information they can contact the police on 101 quoting incident number 864s of August 21, 2019, or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
