LEARN how a water pumping engine supported Rotherwas' firefighters during WW2 with free entry at Hereford's Waterworks Museum this Sunday.

One of the major exhibits at the museum, the Blackstone water pumping engine was installed at the Rotherwas Munitions Factory, which had its own fire station.

It remained in its WW2 bunker until 2003, and following a fund-raising campaign, the engine was relocated to the museum and fully restored.

Head to the museum on September 29 to see the engine in action and the World War Two exhibition.

Music from the 1940's era will set the scene with music from the Pearl Lake Ukulele Group.

There's also fun for all the family in the Play and Learn Heritage Water Park, and many of the engines will be in-steam.

The museum is open from 12 to 4pm, with the engines in-steam from 1pm.
