A FRUSTRATED reveller smashed a window after his night out in Ross-on-Wye was cut short, a court has heard.

Grigore Catalin Sincan, 33, pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage when he appeared at Hereford Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Prosecutor Nicola Ritchie said Sincan, who is from Hildersley, Ross-on-Wye, was arrested for smashing a window after he was refused entry and was asked to leave Jacqueline’s Nightclub due to his behaviour.

The court heard that Sincan left the club in the company of a female, but stopped and banged his hands on one of the building’s windows, causing it to shatter.

Chris Read, defending, said Sincan, who is currently unemployed, had previously been a tenant in the building, which also houses the club.

“This tenancy did not end well,” Mr Read said.

“He left some time ago, but was still known to the owners of the club and the flats. He felt that this was the reason that he was not allowed in, and he was not very happy about it. He walked away, turned the corner, and banged on the window in frustration at the situation.

“He was just trying to make his point and express his displeasure, and he was very surprised when the window broke.”

Sincan was handed a 12 month conditional discharge. He was ordered to pay £500 in compensation, £100 in costs, and a £21 victim surcharge.
