A MUM has shared her struggles with overcoming trauma after childhood abuse in a book.

Danielle Downey, aged 46, has shared her experience to empower others in The Warrior Wellbeing Toolkit book.

The book is a collaborative guidebook to help the reader not feel alone when it comes to their mental health and wellbeing.

Mrs Downey, from Worcester said: “At any point in time we can decide to change our life. Our past is not a life sentence, more a life lesson. I’m a firm believer that our past doesn’t affect our future.

“We are never beyond broken. You alone can decide to be free and live with intention. "You are powerful beyond all comprehension and now is your time.” She added: “I wanted to inspire, motivate and encourage readers to make a move to become the author of their own story and not feel that their past or current situation precludes from reaching their own success.”

Mrs Downey writes openly about her own struggles and her determination to not allow her past to dictate her future.

She shares her journey of healing and why she now seeks to inspire others to live their best life, on their terms.
