A 24-hour indoor skiing challenge is taking place to raise funds for five-year old Oscar.
The idea of the fitness challenge is to boost funds for Oscar Saxelby-Lee’s treatment in Singapore.
The event will take place at Fit 3 Sixty in Shrub Hill from 7pm on Thursday, October 10.
Staff and members from the gym will ski for 24 hours without taking a break.
Frazer Williams, a dad from Pitmaston Primary who is part of the PTA committee, said: “Oscar is in my little girl’s class. The school has done a great deal to support the family. My Sydney comes home from school and tells us about Oscar.
“We’re basically trying to get to the £500,000 target as soon as possible.”
Mr Williams added: “Plenty of people will be there taking part. The idea is to keep skiing for 24 hours and work in teams to ensure the skiing never stops. We want to help Oscar. It’s a case of doing everything we can.
“I like my sport and I like fitness, so I was just keen to take part.”
There will be three groups taking part in the 24-hour event.
One team will consist of different members taking it in turns nonstop. Another team will consist of gym owner, John Clarke, going solo for 24 hours. And Sarah Mimnagh will also ski individually throughout the dedicated time.
