A BROMSGROVE veterinary practice has been shortlisted as a finalist in a prestigious competition for its innovative pet rehabilitation services.

Clent Hills Vets entered the Innovation of the Year category in the North Worcestershire Business Awards for its Pet Fitness and Rehabilitation Centre,

The purpose built, state-of-the art centre, which features a large hydro pool and aqua treadmill, complements the traditional services offered at Clent Hills three veterinary surgeries, in Bromsgrove, Hagley and Rubery.

The centre, which opened in May 2018, offers specialist services to support pet rehabilitation post-surgery, injury or illness; as well as improving mobility, fitness, physique and water confidence; predominantly for dogs and cats.

Rebekka Fiorani, Clent Hills Vets practice manager, said: “Since launching Clent Hills Vets in 1996 we have recognised that fully healing pets requires not only preventative healthcare and emergency services but also specialist rehabilitation.

"Our vision for offering a comprehensive healthcare service became a reality when we opened our dedicated Pet Fitness and Rehabilitation Centre last year.”

She continued: “Being shortlisted for this award gives formal recognition for the team of therapists who have worked so hard to establish the centre.”

20 businesses from across the North Worcestershire region have been shortlisted for an award in the six categories, with Clent Hills Vets facing competition from two other local businesses for the Innovation of the Year title.

The winners will be announced by journalist and BBC presenter Joanne Malin, at a gala dinner at Hogarths Stone Manor on November 28.

The North Worcestershire Business Awards are organised by North Worcestershire Economic Development and Regeneration (NWedR); the shared Local Authority service representing Bromsgrove, Redditch and Wyre Forest, and NWBL (North Worcestershire Business Leaders) in partnership with a group of local business leaders.

The awards’ judges commented that the finalists reflected “an impressive range of businesses, all showcasing products and services that really stand out".

They added: "They are a credit to North Worcestershire.”
