IT will soon be cabaret time in residential homes, at Women’s Institutes and for church congregations with entertainment by youngsters from the Worcester Operatic and Dramatic Society Youth Section (WODYS).
A spokesman said: “This year’s show features songs from West End and Broadway shows including Cabaret (Maybe This Time); Hamilton (You’ll Be Back); Wicked (What Is This Feeling?); The Waitress (Opening Up); and Shrek (Who’d I Be).
"The cabaret features 12 youngsters aged 12 to 16 and has a balance of singing, dance and movement and goes on the road in the new year. It is being produced and choreographed by former WODY Lydia Healy, who is now a singing teacher, married, and with a daughter, Izzy, almost three, who has become the cabaret mascot, attending rehearsals and joining in the fun.
While preparing for the winter cabaret every Sunday morning the youngsters also join the other 60 members of WODYS in rehearsals for their summer show – Shrek The Musical .
