Worcester man Tony James, otherwise known as comedy actor, performer and the man behind the infamous 'Blobbie Williams ' character has launched a new Podcast called, appropriately enough, ‘JUMBO’.

But why?

A spokesman said: "He's spent his lifetime in the crazy world of entertainment, hosted previous podcast shows, worked on radio, TV and stage for over 28 years and has now decided it's about time he was able to speak without limitations!

"He's 42 years old, going grey and a little bit grumpy from time to time. He also has a few things to say!"

Tony added: “It’s so good to be doing this podcast (JUMBO) and now is the right time for me to be doing it! I’ve done podcast shows before but podcasts were never a thing in the UK and I was really only competing with other shows in America but now people in the UK get what a podcast is and a lot more are now downloading and listening.

"After working my entire professional life in showbiz, I’m under no illusion that I’ll suddenly be an overnight success so this is a fantastic opportunity and just feels like the right time!"

But what about Blobbie?

Tony said: "I still get to perform as Blobbie Williams around the country with the odd bit of TV and I’m also performing in a new Trio called 27 Party (a tribute to the 80’s & 90’s) with an old college friend Simon Hughes and singer Talley Smith, which is great fun."

The trio have even been on the JUMBO podcast which is released every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and can be found on Spotify, Apple & Google Podcasts "and just about everywhere else you can get a podcast!"
