A PARISH council chairman has been told to apologise for allegedly attacking flowerpots with an umbrella.
Herefordshire Council found that councillor Janette Ward had brought Tarrington parish council into disrepute by her actions.
Someone complained that councillor Ward had attacked plant pots outside their premises with an umbrella.
The council’s monitoring officer and the independent person concluded that parish council chairman Ward breached the code of conduct.
The decision notice says the reason is that councillor Ward did not deny that the incident occurred.
The matter of the pots has been discussed at various meetings of the parish council so she was aware that it was a matter the parish council was interested in.
The notice concludes that while she may have been acting in her personal capacity she has brought the parish council into disrepute.
Councillor Ward has not responded to requests for comment.
