FOUR-LEGGED friends and their walkers from Hereford and Worcester Animal Rescue will be more visible when they are out and about, thanks to their local Specsavers store.

As part of its ongoing support for Hereford and Worcester Animal Rescue, Specsavers Ludlow has donated high visibility vests to help keep dogs and their walkers safe and seen as the days get shorter.

The donation comes as part of a wider Specsavers partnership with road safety charity, Brake.

“We’re proud to be teaming up with Brake to try and make our roads safer,” said Nicola Aubrey, store director in Ludlow.

“With the nights now much longer, these vests will help make staff and animals from the Animal Rescue visible when they are out and about.

“We currently also have around 150 hi-vis vests still available. If there any local community groups or schools who would benefit from these then we’d love for them to get in touch so that we can put these vests to good use.”

The team has also previously donated a raft of hi-vis vests to local schools including, Bitterley Church of England Primary School and St Laurence Church of England Primary School.

In the winter anyone out and about in the evening at night and in the early morning where there are no lights should make sure they are visible to motorists and other road users.
