A MAN in his 70s was rushed to hospital with 'potentially life-changing injuries' by air ambulance following a crash in Kidderminster.

A blue Nissan Juke and a mobility scooter collided on the carriageway near to the A456.

The incident took place around 1pm yesterday (Sunday, January 5) near Crossley Retail Park at Weavers' Wharf.

An air ambulance from Cosford, a land ambulance and paramedic officer were sent to the scene.

Ambulance crews treated a man, who was the rider of the mobility scooter, for potentially serious injuries.

He was then taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by air ambulance for further treatment.

The roads around the junction were closed from around 1pm to 5pm.

PC Scott Gee said: “We are keen to speak with anyone who may have seen the incident that occurred on the ring road near to the Crossley Retail Park, in Kidderminster, at around 1pm on Sunday (5 January) that involved a Nissan Juke and a mobility scooter so that we can get a better understanding of what has occurred.

“We are especially keen to see any dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident."
