A COUNTY business is celebrating its 60th anniversary by fundraising for a child cancer charity.

CitySigns, based in Hallow, is celebrating its diamond year by attempting to raise £6,000 for the Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust.

CitySigns will be hosting a series of events including fun runs, a charity golf day exhibition competitions to raise money for the charity, which helps children with cancer and their families.

Darren Wilkins, managing director at CitySigns, said: "My father, Horace Wilkins started CitySigns all those years ago and while the technology has changed immensely over the decades, our passion for Worcestershire remains unaltered.

"What better way to mark our 60th anniversary than supporting a charity which matches our own family values, by helping care for generations to come.

“Grace Kelly was a special little girl who was taught to dance by my sister Debbie, the owner of Happy Steps in Worcester and we feel passionate about putting our celebrations to a good cause to raise awareness and funds for a charity so ingrained in our community.

"We have also been so moved by the plight of Oscar and we want to do whatever we can to give our support in 2020."

Michelle Nolan, corporate and community fundraiser, The Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust, says “The team at The Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust are absolutely delighted to have been chosen to join CitySigns momentous year of celebrations.

"Being a local charity it is so important to us to have the kind support of such a long standing Worcester family business.

"We support families nationally and locally, offering grants to families in Worcestershire and Herefordshire when a child is diagnosed with any type of cancer.

"We are excited about events being held for us and very much look forward to being involved in the celebrations. Thank you Darren and the team for all of your kind help and support.”

The Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust is a national charity working to help children and young people affected by cancer. Focused on early diagnosis, raising awareness, supporting families and research, it’s a charity committed to helping both cancer sufferers and their families.
