THE search continues for a driver who crashed a suspected stolen car during a police chase in Dudley, leaving several people injured.
A suspected stolen BMW, which was being pursued by police, crashed into a VW Passat at Scotts Green Island on Stourbridge Road at around 1.45pm on Sunday, January 26.
The BMW is believed to have been stolen in a car-jacking in Dudley during the previous day, a force spokesperson said.
A man, woman and two children in the Passat were taken to hospital, along with a police officer injured while trying to detain the driver who escaped.
A passenger of the BMW was also taken to hospital for checks.
Police confirmed the passenger of the BMW has been arrested on suspicion of robbery.
A spokesperson from West Midlands Police said: "Police were called to Scotts Green Island, Stourbridge Road, after a suspected stolen car which was being pursued by police hit another vehicle, leaving a number of people injured.
"The collision happened just before 1.45pm following a short pursuit involving a BMW thought to have been taken in a car-jacking in Dudley on Saturday (25 January).
"The people in the VW Passat which was struck - a man, woman and two children - were taken to hospital for checks.
"A passenger of the BMW was also taken to hospital for checks, along with a police officer injured while trying to detain the driver.
"Officers are continuing to search for the driver and the passenger was arrested on suspicion of robbery."
