AN Only Fools and Horses quiz night has been organised to raise money for a village hall.

The Trotter’s Night will take place at Shelsley Beauchamp Village Hall in a bid to raise money to improve the upkeep of the village hall.

Chairman Dave Bates, who took over the village hall in December 2019, said: “We want to bring in more villagers because it’s had a poor relationship for some time.

“The previous owners had financial problems and couldn’t afford to keep it running. So that’s why we took over the running of it.

“We have not long taken over and we’re trying to build bridges.”

Del Boy’s van will be parked there on the night of Saturday, February 22 from 7pm. Fans will have the opportunity to take pictures with the iconic vehicle.

Food will be served on the night, which will be chicken and chips in a basket.

A prize will be up for grabs for the winner of the quiz, which will be based on the popular comedy TV series.

Mr Bates, aged 67, added: “We’re trying to get people together to use the hall more often as it’s important to get the community involved. It’s at the heart of the community.

“It’s situated on a beautiful countryside site so we want people to come and see it. Hopefully it will be a good fun night.”

The money raised will be used on improving the car park. Mr Bates said he is also hoping to install a BBQ and pizza oven in the garden in the future.

Mr Bates said he is planning on organising various events for residents to attend.

Mr Bates said he would like to sell at least 60 tickets. The price of a ticket costs £7.50. To book a place, call 07436110793.
