HERE are a few of the notable cases heard at Worcester Magistrates Court over the last week.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man who failed to attend court to face theft charges.

Thomas Allen was due to appear before magistrates on February 20 to face three charges of theft.

The charges state that on December 21 last year, the 35 year-old stole Dior fragrances worth £230 from Debenhams.

The second charge alleges he stole hair straightners and a ladies' jacket worth £140 from TK Maxx between November 19 and November 24 last year.

The third charge alleges he stole ladies' jacket worth £80 from TK Maxx on November 25 last year.

A man who pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine has been fined.

30 year-old Robin Bayer, of Dace Road, Worcester, appeared before magistrates to face the charge, which says that on May 10 last year he had in his possession 4.28g of cocaine.

He indicated a guilty plea to the charge, and magistrates fined him £50 along with ordering the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs.

A woman who stole more than £200 of stock from Asda in Worcester has been jailed.

Kaylie Blaymires was jailed for eight weeks after she admitted stealing from the store while suspended sentence on January 13 this year.

32 year-old Blaymires, of Stourport, was ordered to pay £122 and the eight week jail term was added consecutively to the term for her original offence, which was an assault in Stourport last year.

A warrant has been issued for an Evesham man who failed to turn up to face a drug possession charge.

Gareth Cook, of Ferry Lane, Evesham, was due to appear in court on February 20 to face a single charge of having cannabis in his possession on October 29 last year.

The 26 year-old failed to attend his hearing, so a warrant for arrest without bail was issued.

A woman who verbally abused emergency services staff has been fined.

Claire Southall, of Lear Close, Worcester, admitted calling for an ambulance on January 23 only to refuse to let the crew in to her property, verbally abusing them in the process.

In doing so, she breached a criminal behaviour order imposed in November last year, and as a result she was ordered to pay £112.
