REDDITCH United have kicked off new community football sessions at The Trico Stadium, with the aim of growing participation for adult football.

Participants are able to join in open sessions on the club's 3G surface with all equipment provided. Eleven footballers were involved in the first session, and the club's target is to get over 20 per week to sessions by the end of March.

Redditch United operation manager, David Faulkner, said: "We want to hear from existing teams, coaches or players that would like to be part of this exciting new project to extend playing opportunities to older age groups.

"The assembled squad would then be able to register to a competitive League and play fixtures on Sundays throughout next season and this will include access to play games and train on our Trico Stadium 3G pitch."

The club are also currently seeking the signature of first team manager Duane Darby to join the Veterans' team.

The former Football League hotshot will take charge of the first team for the first time since their emphatic victory over Nuneaton Borough when they host Hednesford Town tomorrow (Saturday, kick-off 3pm).

All eyes will then be on Saturday March 14 as Redditch take on Bromsgrove Sporting at The Trico Stadium (also 3pm kick-off).
