Who are you? Tamsin Hancocks-Guinan

When did you open? I opened the boutique in September 2013, to provide brides with an exceptional customer experience in the search for their perfect gown.

Tell us about the business Tamsin’s Bridal Boutique is a family run boutique in the heart of Kidderminster. We offer a unique and luxurious bridal shopping experience without the price tag. We pride ourselves in our reputation for our unrivalled customer experience, providing wedding gowns, bridesmaids dresses, amazing selection of plussize wedding gowns, mother-of-the-bride and award winning prom gowns as well as men’s formal hire, white wedding bouncy castle hire and wedding car hire.

How did you decide on the name? I wanted something unique, belonging to me that said what it was in the name so that brides knew that they would always get to see me, and because it gave it that personal touch.

Who works there? Myself Tamsin, my assistant Amy, my seamstress Mandy and both my mum Su and my mother-in-law Lyn help out when needed. My husband Matthew runs the bouncy castle and the cars with help from my Dad Ed and my father-in-law Martin as required.

Who are your customers? Our customers are from all over the country and are all age groups and genders. We cater for the youngest page boy or flower girl up to the grandfather and grandmother of the groom and everyone else in between.

What’s your most memorable moment in business so far? This has to be appearing on Don’t tell the Bride and being on tv. Our proudest moment so far has to be becoming a finalist in the English Wedding awards last year, for a small family run boutique this was a big deal for us we were incredibly proud even to be nominated.

Have you had any strange or quirky stories? We have done full goth weddings, weddings on trains, football themed weddings, full fairytale weddings - we love them all!

What are your ambitions for the future? The boutique has been going from strength to strength and we have added so much to our business over the years. We have some amazing things to offer our brides and grooms and we hope to continue for many many years to come. We will hopefully increase our wedding car offering and expand to incorporate menswear on a much larger scale in the not too distant future, whilst still focusing on giving all our beautiful brides the shopping experience they love whilst choosing the wedding gown of their dreams.
