Another victim of the tough Government advice on tackling the coronavirus crisis is Worcester Festival Choral Society’s ‘A Sea Symphony’ concert.

This was set to take place on March 21 from 7.30pm at Worcester Cathedral.

Ben Cooper, Chairman of Worcester Festival Choral Society, said: “We take public health advice with the utmost seriousness, and recognise our duty to each other and our communities, especially those who are vulnerable.

“It is therefore essential that we follow the Prime Minister’s latest Coronavirus (COVID-19) advice on avoiding social gatherings. Our event would have gathered more than 500 music lovers.

“Due to the cancellation however, we are pleased to confirm that a refund will be given to all ticket purchasers.”

“Although we are disappointed not to be able to present this concert, we do hope that our next season will be unaffected, including Elgar’s choral masterpiece, Dream of Gerontius, on November 14.”
