A RESTAURANT is doing its bit to help NHS staff battling coronavirus by delivering free meals.
Indian restaurant Anupam started doing deliveries for the first time in its history earlier this month as the coronavirus crisis hit the industry.

The restaurant has already delivered hundreds of meals to staff at Worcestershire Royal Hospital and Malvern Community Hospital to help staff saving lives enjoy a proper meal while working. In addition it has also delivered to care homes and police officers on duty.
On Facebook, a spokesman said: “We’re almost done in preparing over 100 meals for the staff at Worcester Royal Hospital this evening. Biryani, tikka and naan is on its way with just individual packaging to complete.
“Last night March 30) we donated to all of the police staff on duty in Malvern and last week we donated to three care homes in Malvern as well as the community hospital.
“We are determined to do as much as we can for the heroes taking care of all of us. Thank you to you all, we are so grateful.”
Following government advice, the Malvern restaurant is only offering takeaway during the coronavirus outbreak.
Anupam has won awards in recent times, with last year seeing them highly commended in the Tiffin Cup, an annual competition to find the best South Asian restaurant in the country.
The restaurant was nominated by West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin, who praised Anupam’s management.
At the time, she said: “We have some really good restaurants specialising in South Asian cooking in West Worcestershire and each year I keep my eye out for a good eaterie to put forward to represent my constituency.
“Anupam is very well-known locally as a regular place for pre- and post-theatre diners and I have been there quite a few times myself and have always enjoyed my food there.”
