A POPULAR science event in Malvern will go ahead this year in spite of the coronavirus crisis after organisers decided to make it a virtual event.

Innovate Malvern CIC, who host the annual science event in Priory Park, have decided to hold their show virtually with live broadcasts and pre-recorded videos and discussions.

Taking place between 10am and 4.30pm on June 27, the event is aimed at primary and early secondary school students who can register for a limited number of tickets enabling them to pose questions to guest speakers on the day.

Managing director Dr Adrian Burden said: "We didn’t want to simply cancel this year’s event, particularly as schools have been so disrupted over the last few months.

"So, we’re grateful that so many science communicators have agreed to jump on board with the new format and share their insights and enthusiasm for the subject from their own homes and gardens."
