BRETFORTON seconds secured a satisfying 1-1 draw at their Cirencester counterparts in West Clubs Women’s League Severn Division Two.

Mid-table Bret were missing key players but dominated early on, with Ness Dufty and Hannah Dufty unsettling the hosts.

The pacy Alice Cook went close before forward Lucy Cole opened the scoring after her initial shot was parried.

Cirencester equalised by half-time, before an even second-half saw player-of-the-match Molly Stock pull off an important save.

Jane Wheeler, Lesley MacKinnon, Holly Hutchison and Jemima Hutchison played well in defence.

Meanwhile, Pershore were awarded a 3-0 West Midlands Men’s League Division One win at Newtown after their opponents cancelled due to a lack of players.

The seconds produced their best hockey of the season to beat Redditch 7-4 in West Midlands Division Two.

Pershore soon led 5-0 through Ali Sanderson (3) and Steve Quantrell (2).

Redditch pulled back two goals in the first-half and added two more late in the second period.

But Mark Passmore’s brace wrapped up the win for Pershore.

A mixed thirds team won 6-1 at Yardley, with Jack Leech (2), Luke Dalley, Jason Brown and Kate Adams (2) scoring.
