IAN Holmes reclaimed the Oldwell Farm title in Childswickham Gun Club's only measured discipline of the year.
The down-the-line event attracted a wide range of competitors, some from as far afield as Hereford, on a day when good scores proved hard to come by.
Holmes won with a 57/75 score having been knocked off top spot last year and went on to perform well over the sporting layout, sharing high gun of the day with David Galbraith (31/40).
Club stalwart John Arnold (26/40) came second, edging out the ever-improving Danny Andrews (24/40).
The next shoot takes place on Sunday, October 29 and will incorporate the Mike Emms Compact Sporting trophy. Participants are reminded to use fibre wads only.
