OFFENHAM Cricket Club is calling for support to help win funding as part of the Aviva Community Fund 2017.

The club is chasing funding of up to £3,999 to provide covers for its playing surface with only projects with the most votes considered.

Chairman Andrew Harrison said: “As a small village club, building and maintaining the facilities we need relies on hard work, the dedication of our committee and great fundraising ideas to keep momentum.

“Next year is important for us as we are again offering coaching to our local children, boys and girls from five upwards. Over the past 10 years we have coached more than150 local children and for the past five years we have run a team in the Junior Cotswold League.

"What is great to see is the elder of those juniors now playing in the senior teams, most notably our senior team captain Jay Jennings.”

Offenham Cricket Club was founded some 158 years ago and continues to thrive with its junior sections in providing facilities and opportunities for all within the local area.
