PERSHORE Town have two shots left at ending a sluggish finish to the season.
Saturday’s 3-1 defeat at Stafford Town was Pershore’s fourth without victory in Midland Football League Division One.
Jordan Dodd opened the scoring for the hosts by tucking home a rebound before Alfie Bloomer levelled matters by beating keeper Tom Degg to the ball to finish.
Some neat approach play from Taylor Allen allowed Dodd to restore Stafford’s lead and the points were made safe by Tom Duffy’s smart shot on the swivel.
It turned out to be a frustrating afternoon with the visitors enjoying plenty of possession.
Quentin Townsend’s team bring down the curtain on their home campaign against Heath Hayes on Saturday (3pm). First-half goals from Jack Downing and Shaun Griffiths saw Pershore win the reverse fixture 2-1 last month.
The campaign gets rounded off with a trip to Studley on Tuesday (7.45) as Town look to avoid a late slump into the bottom four.
