ECKINGTON Juniors won a tough Ambassador Evesham Under 13s Cup final 2-0 against rivals Welland Junior.
The game ebbed and flowed for the first 13 minutes before a series of shots ended with the ball ricocheting off Liam Hobbs and creeping over the line.
Two goal-saving tackles and a brave block by Eckington player of the match Max Moulder kept Eckington's clean sheet intact.
Miller Willis was denied by the Welland keeper while Eckington's James McCabe saved well at the other end.
With nine minutes left, Tom Shayamapant sprinted beyond the defence to strike a clinical finish into the bottom corner.
Eckington skipper Tommy Boorman and his fellow defenders remained resolute to see the game out.
Welland and Eckington will play each other again on Saturday, May 12, in a match that could decide the league title.
